Project content:
The current strict regulations and their expected further tightening make it uneconomic to operate the widespread micro and mini gas engine power plants. To operate economically, lower costs and higher revenues are needed. Increasing energy efficiency means reducing fuel consumption and thus reducing carbon dioxide emissions. This makes energy production cheaper. But there are other ways to improve the economics of running existing engines. Pollutant emissions, e.g. NOx, are now subject to a significant and substantial environmental charge. Reducing engine emissions by using reliable, efficient exhaust gas cleaning processes can be radically reduced - today not only protects the environment but also the operators' wallets. Therefore, we have developed a gas engine with hybrid catalytic combustion that can be installed instead of the exhaust system to neutralise the exhaust gas and even generate and recover heat by itself. We have therefore developed a technology that, when coupled to micro and mini gas engine power plants, increases their energy efficiency and reduces their carbon dioxide and other harmful emissions. The technology can also be used on existing gas engine power plants, so the efficiency of these devices can be increased while reducing the environmental impact. The project was led by Power Szerviz Ltd. The company has been involved in the design, installation, servicing and maintenance of small power plants since 2006. The consortium member Epres Trans Ltd. has extensive experience in energy issues, operation of internal combustion gas and diesel engines, research and prototype designs and production.Power Szerviz Ltd. received a grant of HUF 210,059,997 and Epres Trans Ltd. received a grant of HUF 89,940,003 for the implementation of the project.
The project ended on 29.08.2020.
